CHCA Benefit Questions

The Community HealthCare Alliance plan renews annually on May 1st.  Any rate change would be effective for twelve months from May 1 through April 30 of the following year.  Open enrollment between March 1 and April 30 allows existing groups to submit applications for employees or family members who previously waived coverage.  New group applications are accepted for evaluation throughout the year.

Coverage is available monthly from the first of the month to the last of the month.  Invoices are issued on the 15th of the month for coverage of the coming month and due on the 1st of the month covered.  A 30-day grace period is a courtesy period that allows late payments to be processed.  It is not a guarantee of coverage.  If payment is not received by the end of the 30-day grace period, coverage is terminated back to the 1st of the month following the paid-to date.

COBRA law applies to the Community HealthCare Alliance plan. See CHCA benefit summaries for details and rates as well as the application form..
